Ibn Abideen Institute is a non-profit dedicated to teaching the classical Islamic sciences with care, rigor, and accessibility.
The institute takes its name from the great Hanafi jurist Imam Muhammad Amin ibn ʿAbidin al-Shami (d. 1252 AH / 1836 CE), whose work Radd al-Muhtar remains the most authoritative reference of the late Hanafi school. Like its namesake, our institute is committed to grounding every offering in the established tradition while making it speak to the questions of our time.
We aim to provide every Muslim — from the new convert to the lifelong student — with access to the foundational sciences of their religion, taught by qualified scholars in interactive, engaging, English-language classrooms. Many of our courses are kept free, supported by community donations, so that no seeker is turned away for lack of means.
This institute was founded as the teaching platform of Shaykh Mohammed Ibn Abid, who began offering classes online in 2020. Originally operating under his personal name, the program has now matured into a community institute with a broader scope of programs, and has been renamed Ibn Abideen Institute to reflect that growth.
"The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his sadaqah."
